Monday, June 20 - Day Two
Day Two, Cat slammed out 13,820' of climbing as she hammered her way from Congress, Arizona to Kayenta, Arizona for a total of 294.8 miles. That is over 640 miles covered in two days. Other than her front light falling off Cat stayed on the bike and powered threw the night. The climb to Flagstaff is hot and relentless, rewarded cool mountain top temperatures and a fast descent into the furnace like temperatures of the desert in the Navajo Nation.
The temperature and short, steep desert climbs won't let up until shel leaves Cortez, heading for Durango and Wolf creek Pass. That comes tomorrow, today she still has the desert eating away at her.
